Occupation overview

Metrology technicians work across a wide range of industries in engineering and manufacturing. The role of skilled metrology technicians requires them to identify measurement needs, and plan and perform measurement tasks using a variety of tools. Some metrology technicians might be measuring the size of a galaxy in the space industry, while others help to ensure a correct fit for a patient’s new hip joint in the medical field. 

End-point assessment with EAL 

EAL is an end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), and listed on the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR).
