Paper certificates
Learners who complete an EAL qualification or unit(s) achievement receive a paper certificate through their approved centre. See below for information on how to request a record search, order a replacement, or check a certificate’s validity.
We also offer digital certificates using Certify. The platform gives centres and learners the opportunity to embrace a digital-first approach to certification, reducing paper use and carbon footprint.
Request a record search
What is it?
EAL keeps records of achievement for seven years. If you need to locate a missing record, simply fill in the application form and pay the £30.00 plus VAT search fee.
Who is it for?
Individuals who have completed an EAL qualification but no longer have a record of their certificate number. Please note, this service only applies for qualifications and not end-point assessment.
Validate a certificate
What is it?
EAL’s Certificate Checker is a secure and reliable way to authenticate a learner’s achievement. All that’s required is the learner’s first and last name, date of birth, and certificate number.
Who is it for?
Employers and other parties who need an efficient and reliable way to verify a learner’s EAL qualifications, for example as part of the hiring process.
Replace a paper certificate
What is it?
EAL can provide replacement certificates for qualifications obtained after 1 January 2017 for a fee of £30.00 plus VAT. If two months have passed since you completed your qualification, please fill in the request form below. Otherwise, please contact your centre first.
For qualifications obtained before 1 January 2017, EAL can only issue a Proof of Achievement, which lists the qualification title and units achieved.
Who is it for?
This service is intended for learners who require a replacement certificate. If you no longer have access to the original certificate number, you will need to recover it through a record search before proceeding.
Starting 30 September 2024, learners will be able to request replacement certificates directly through Certify.
Centres should continue to request replacement certificates through Online Services.
