Occupation overview

Engineering maintenance technicians can choose from one of two specialist options – electrical and control and instrumentation technician, or electrical and mechanical maintenance technician.  

The role will provide learners with a chance to develop their skills in a specialist area as they begin to develop their career in engineering maintenance of machinery, apparatus and fixtures, within a range of industries.

End-point assessment with EAL 

EAL is an end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), and listed on the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR).
