Occupation overview

A commercial catering equipment technician is tasked with the installation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment that powers the catering industry. The role might involve travel on behalf of one manufacturer or remaining on-site for its users, as well as the organisation and scheduling of works. 

The role requires ensuring work is carried out to high standards of quality and accuracy, as well as satisfying health and safety and efficiency measures. Learners will need to have a Gas Safe registration for working on certain equipment. 

End-point assessment with EAL 

EAL is an end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), and listed on the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR).
