Occupation overview

Battery manufacturing technicians work in different stages of cell or battery manufacture, installing and testing components before conducting end-of-line testing. Knowledge and experience in the varied cell manufacturing processes can be useful. 

Technicians support in other areas such as development of health & safety and environmental awareness, and continuous improvement processes. This core and pathway standard has four pathways: electrode technician; cell assembly technician; ageing, formation, and testing technician; and module and pack technician.

End-point assessment with EAL 

EAL is an end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), and listed on the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR). 

EAL has been at the heart of new apprenticeship standards development, supporting employer trailblazer development groups for key industry occupations since 2013, when the reforms began.
