Occupation overview

This role involves inspections of aeroplanes and helicopters for maintenance and repair. Aviation maintenance mechanics carry out pre and post flight inspection on air vehicles, planning work and other activities such as replenishments. 

Knowledge of regulatory procedures such as health and safety is of utmost importance in the role – apprentices are expected to wear appropriate protective clothing for the role.

End-point assessment with EAL 

EAL is an end-point assessment organisation (EPAO), and listed on the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR).
