The EAL Level 2 Award in Introduction to Infrared Thermal Imaging Technology is a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) designed to provide learners with the core knowledge and practical skills needed to operate infrared (IR) cameras safely and effectively. This qualification introduces the basic principles of thermography, including heat transfer, emissivity, reflection, and transmission, and gives learners practical experience in setting up and using IR cameras.
It is particularly relevant to learners working or preparing to work in construction, engineering, facilities management, or manufacturing, where infrared technology is increasingly being applied for condition monitoring, preventative maintenance, and quality control. The qualification emphasises safe practice, accurate image capture, and simple reporting of thermographic findings.
As an approved centre, you can deliver recognised EAL qualifications to your learners, and receive ongoing support from our team.
