EAL is pleased to confirm that funding support is now available for Joint Industry Board (JIB) member companies and their employees undertaking the new EAL Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pump Systems (Non-refrigerant Circuits) (610/7301/5).
JIB member companies often deliver mechanical building services engineering and electrotechnical work across a range of disciplines. This new funding will support workforce upskilling and aligns with the JIB’s commitment to tackling the climate crisis. As greener technologies continue to be adopted, contractors have an opportunity to expand their skills and services into emerging markets. The JIB’s Skills Development Fund (SDF) provides financial assistance for eligible further education and training in the electrical industry, and this recognition adds to the existing range of EAL qualifications already supported.
Dan Woods, ECS Standards & Development Manager, said:
“Supporting JIB member companies to access training in low-carbon technologies is an important part of helping the industry respond to changing skills needs and is essentially the reason for the JIB Skills Development Fund charity.
This funding will make it easier for eligible employers and operatives to develop practical competence in air source heat pump systems, supporting business growth while contributing to the wider transition to greener building services and government drive to net zero.”
To qualify for the fund, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
The grant supports continuous professional development (CPD) and upskilling within the electrotechnical sector.
Funding is provided either as a direct payment to the training provider/college or as a reimbursement upon providing proof of payment. For more information on the SDF and how to apply, please visit the dedicated webpage below.
