T Levels Week is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of learners, educators and employers, while raising awareness of the technical qualifications helping young people take their next steps.
At EAL, we’re proud to support T Levels that combine technical knowledge with practical experience, helping learners develop the skills they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study. With pathways across engineering, manufacturing and building services engineering, these qualifications offer young people the chance to explore their interests and build a foundation for their future careers.
T Levels are two-year technical qualifications for 16 to 19-year-olds in England, designed in collaboration with employers to develop the knowledge and skills needed for skilled employment.
Equivalent in size to three A Levels, each T Level combines classroom-based learning with an industry placement, giving learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real workplace. This balance of theory and practical experience helps students understand their chosen sector, develop workplace skills and gain valuable insight into their future career.
T Levels also provide routes into skilled employment, apprenticeships and higher education, giving learners options to progress in a way that suits their ambitions.
EAL supports T Level technical qualifications across Engineering and Manufacturing, and Construction and Building Services Engineering.
Working with City & Guilds, we deliver the current generation of Engineering and Manufacturing and Construction and Building Services Engineering T Level technical qualifications. Our Engineering and Manufacturing qualifications are designed with input from our Employer Industry Board to help ensure they reflect sector needs and align with apprenticeship standards.
EAL is also working in partnership with WJEC Eduqas to develop and deliver the next generation of T Levels in Building Services Engineering for Construction and Onsite Construction.
T Levels give learners the opportunity to build technical knowledge while gaining an understanding of what working in their chosen sector involves. Industry placements are a key part of this experience, allowing students to apply what they learn, develop confidence and gain insight into workplace expectations.
For employers, placements offer an opportunity to engage with emerging talent, share their expertise and help young people understand the opportunities available across engineering, manufacturing and building services.
These connections between education and industry matter. By helping learners develop relevant skills and gain practical experience, T Levels can support progression into rewarding careers while contributing to the future skills needs of the sector.
At EAL, we believe technical education has an important role to play in helping people develop, enter and progress in their chosen occupations. T Levels are one part of this, giving young people a valuable opportunity to combine learning with experience and explore where their skills could take them.
This T Levels Week, we’re celebrating everyone helping make these opportunities possible, from learners building their skills to educators and employers supporting their development.
