EAL is excited to announce its sponsorship of the Metal Fabricator category at the WorldSkills UK 2025 competition. As a leading awarding organisation for engineering and manufacturing, this sponsorship greatly aligns with our goal of ensuring learners can access the skills and training they need to begin a career in the engineering and manufacturing sector.
The WorldSkills UK 2025 competitions are designed by industry experts and help young people grow personally and professionally by developing their technical and employability skills. The competition-based development programme is proven to upskill and develop young people from all backgrounds and abilities.
Metal fabrication is a large part of the UK engineering industry, it covers a wide range of fabrication and welding skills in heavy plate, structural steel, the manufacture of machines, for all types of production lines, construction machines and equipment, to fine tolerance sheet metal for the aircraft industry, in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
The Metal Fabricator category at the WorldSkills UK 2025 competition will focus on a number of skills, including reading fabrication drawings, thermal cutting accurately to varying tolerances and forming, and shaping thick and thin ferrous or non-ferrous metallic materials.
Alison Parkes, Managing Director of EAL, shared: "We’re proud to sponsor the Metal Fabricator category at WorldSkills UK 2025. Supporting this competition reflects our commitment to developing the next generation of skilled metal fabricators, highlighting the incredible talent within the sector.
Competitions like WorldSkills UK play a crucial role in inspiring excellence and raising industry standards, and we’re excited to see the impressive skills on display."
EAL is proud to support the next generation of metal fabricators through this exciting competition. We look forward to seeing the amazing young people show off their skills and the positive impact it will have on the future of UK engineering and manufacturing.
