It covers the advanced level knowledge and understanding of cycle maintenance and has been developed in consultation with colleges, training associations and the cycle maintenance sector. This diploma does not require occupational evidence.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; although Centres should ensure that learners have the potential to achieve the units within it. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to comply with the health and safety aspects of the syllabus, the completion of the learning outcomes and the external assessment.
The qualification covers a variety of aspects of cycle maintenance depending on the units taken, subjects include: Working safely, customer service, people management, cycle hydraulic brake systems, principles of suspension systems and advanced wheel building.
This qualification is offered in England and Northern Ireland as 501/0988/1 and is appropriate for age ranges 16-18 & 19+.
