The EAL Level 2 Diploma in Machining (Foundation Knowledge) qualification covers the specific knowledge and understanding of a range of machining disciplines. The qualification covers the intermediate knowledge, understanding and skills that are required by someone working in the machining sector. It takes a hands-on approach to intermediate machining training by providing learners with: Knowledge and understanding of a range of machining disciplines, Information that will help them make more informed decisions about their career options, and Personal skills to help them work effectively and achieve their potential.
The qualification is achieved when all the necessary units have been completed. The centre will then be able to apply for the learner’s certificate of achievement. The learners will also receive a certificate of unit credit, listing all the units they have achieved.
This manual must be used in conjunction with the delivery and assessment of any individual units to ensure that assessment requirements and methodologies are consistently applied. This qualification is mandated within the England Apprenticeship Standards Engineering Technician Level 3 - ST0457 and Engineering Fitter Level 3 - ST0432.
