The EAL EAL Level 2 Certificate in Preparation for Working in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry is a Vocational Related Qualification (VRQ) and provides knowledge to apply to work within a modern engineering manufacturing environment. Achievement of this qualification does NOT imply competency.
This qualification has been developed in consultation with employers who are keen to bring new entrants, who have little or no previous experience of a manufacturing environment, into their workforce. It is based on employers’ expectations of what a prospective employee should know prior to entering their workplace; it is focused on making a prospective employee work ready, it does not remove the need for any subsequent training they may require once they are employed.
This qualification in for potential learner new entrants into the engineering manufacturing workforce, who have little or no previous experience. Learners considering moving into this industry, who also may have been unemployed for some time.
The knowledge and skills required to be able to apply for a position within a modern engineering manufacturing environment including: Understanding the engineering manufacturing environment, Understanding the importance of sustainability within engineering manufacturing, Demonstration of hand skills in an engineering manufacturing environment, Preparing for interviews, Solving work problems.
The minimum age for registration is 16.
