The EAL Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is a Vocational Related Qualification (VRQ). It is designed for learners who work or who want to work in Construction or trades that need to access construction sites in the UK as a non-skilled worker. It is suitable for learners 16-18 and 19+. This qualification covers the knowledge of the principles of risk assessments, the importance of safe manual handling, working safely at height, the risks to health within a construction environment and the importance of working around plant, machinery and equipment safely.
The qualification meets the requirements for learners to achieve a formal knowledge based qualification in order to apply for the CSCS UK Ltd Green Card. Successful completion of this qualification and the CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test will enable the learner to access construction sites in the UK as a non-skilled worker. This qualification is supported by Construction Skills and was developed in conjunction with CITB and CSCS UK Ltd.
