EAL L3 Award in the Requirements for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems in Dwellings

This qualification covers the knowledge and understanding of the requirements for fire detection and alarm systems in dwellings. The focus is on fire detection and alarm systems within Grades D – F, but will also cover Grades A and C. It will introduce the various key legislation and regulations that apply; whilst enabling the Learner to recognise that UK nations have different minimum requirements or recommendations.

It is aimed at electricians and other BSE professionals who wish to demonstrate they have the necessary understanding associated with fire detection and alarm systems in dwellings. It covers fire risk assessments, design, installation and commissioning, and certification and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings. 

It is supported by the Fire and Security Association (FSA). Learners must be at least 18 years old.
