A summary

Challenges

Having decided to become an employer-provider through a £200,000 on-site education centre, Essity needed to:
Navigate the logistical and regulatory complexities of launching their own academy.
Provide engineering and manufacturing qualifications in line with the Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
Transition existing apprentices from external colleges to new on-site facilities to complete their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.

Our solution

To start the process, one of our Regional Development Managers spent a day on the Essity site helping them envision exactly what they wanted to achieve and how to get there.
We advised Essity on how to employ unused space, extend existing infrastructure, recruit training personnel, and transition current apprentices to the new site for completion of their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
To ensure Essity’s apprentices had the foundational knowledge needed for upskilling in the future, we also offered academic components to complement the Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
