EAL Level 3 Award in Mobile Oxy-Fuel Gas Equipment Inspection
This nationally accredited EAL qualification in compressed and liquefied gases safety is offered in partnership with Proactive Gas Safety (PGS), the training partner of Air Liquide in the UK. This qualification provides learners with evidence of their competencies and skills, to support their ongoing career development and help employers demonstrate the abilities of their workforce.
This qualification applies to training for the inspection and maintenance of Oxy-Acetylene/Propane equipment to British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) Code of Practice 7 (CP7).
This qualification enables learners to undertake an inspection of a mobile oxy fuel gas unit as required by legislation and BCGA Codes of Practice. On successful completion of the unit, learners will have a technical knowledge of the function the equipment to be inspected, the hazards and properties of the associated gases and be able to perform and record an examination of the equipment.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; although centres should ensure that the learners have the potential to achieve the units within this qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to comply with the health and safety aspects of the scheme, the completion of the learning outcomes and the external assessment.
This qualification is relevant to learners from a wide range of industry backgrounds and work environments, including engineering and manufacturing, laboratory, chemical, transport, defence and cryogenic gas.
This qualification combines taught and practical components, and is assessed through multiple choice questions and practical demonstrations.
