Overview:
This award covers the principles and practices involved in the construction of electrical panels for engineering applications together with the commissioning techniques of electrical panels and associated equipment.
The qualification covers the relevant statutory and non-statutory legislation, safe systems of working, interpretation of drawings and diagrams, together with refurbishing, maintaining and repairing and commissioning electrical panels.
The award comprises of one unit which has 75 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
It has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) 80 hours (notational time required by the learner to complete the qualification).
Qualification pre-requisites:
Learners must be at least 16 years old.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however centres should ensure that the learner has the potential to achieve the qualification.
Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.
Who is this qualification for?:
The qualification is relevant for learners who wish to learn about electrical panels, and technician level engineers who are working with panels and wish to achieve a formal qualification.

How is this qualification assessed?:
The learner will be assessed by the use of internal assessment at the Centre which includes practical and theory assessments. This qualification is graded pass or fail only.
