This qualification is designed to cover the skills and knowledge needed to work effectively in a wide variety of aeronautical engineering activities. Successful learners will:  develop skills and competencies relating to their specific role  gain a recognised qualification to support their progress to further learning and greater responsibility in the workplace.

Employees who need recognition of their competence in one or more of a wide variety of aeronautical engineering activities, as a standalone qualification.
 Apprentices in Wales undertaking the engineering manufacture Apprenticeship at level 3.
An extended version, including level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) units to provide essential basic engineering training for apprentices in England, is also available.
