This qualification allows the learner to acquire underpinning knowledge and
related skills for the installation of small scale solar photovoltaic systems.

Learners must be at least 16 years old and have an N/SVQ 3 in Electrical
Installation (Buildings and Structures) or equivalent earlier certification that
provides evidence of competence. In addition, if not included in the above,
current certification of BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.

This qualification has a kowledge and performance unit which between
them cover the competencies for the installation of small scale solar PV
systems. It is specifically for electricians who wish to upgrade their skills.

The qualification is assessed by a mixture of an on-screen exam, and
practical assessment.

This qualification will be achieved when the learner has successfully
completed the theory and practical assessments relating to the units.
