This qualification is for learners who wish to obtain fundamental knowledge and practical
skills involved with inspection and testing of simple single phase electrical installations in
accordance with statutory and non-statutory requirements.

Learners must be at least 16 years old. There are no formal entry requirements
for this qualification; however centres should ensure that the learners have the
potential to achieve the qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels
of literacy and numerary to complete the learning outcomes and assessment.
It is recommended that learners have an understanding of the requirements of
BS 7671 and are working in the electrical industry.

Learners who wish to gain a fundamental knowledge of inspection and
testing of simple single phase electrical installations together with
relevant practical skills.

A 30 question (open book) on-screen examination. The learner will require
IET Guidance Note 3. The learner will also undertake the initial verification
of single phase installation indicative of a simple domestic installation.
