Engineering Maintenance (SCQF)
This qualification is Scottish Vocational qualification (SVQ). It involves the skills and knowledge needed to do the job, ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems. SVQ's are based on National Occupational Standards, which you must meet to be competent in a particular task.
The achievement of SVQ's will encourage an employee to value their contribution to the workplace, and it
will develop their skills and potential.
There are no entry qualifications or age limits required for these qualifications and /or units unless this is a legal requirement of the process or the environment. Assessment is open to any Learner who has the potential to reach the standards laid down for this qualification and/or units.
This SVQ qualification in Engineering Maintenance at SCQF Level 6 is for individuals who wish to develop a range of new skills and knowledge in variety of engineering maintenance activities within the industry. For those who wish to have a recognition of their competence that involves the application of knowledge in a broad range of varied work activities performed in a wide variety of contexts, most of which are complex and non-routine.
This qualification is gained when all the necessary units have been achieved. You will also receive a Certificate of Unit Credit, listing all the units you have achieved. However if you don't manage to complete the full qualification you can still claim a Certificate of Unit.
Assessment is carried out in the workplace, with learners gathering a portfolio of evidence to show their achievements against the National Occupational Standards.
Competence based qualifications are undertaken in the learner's place of work.
