This VRQ is a recognised technical certificate for learners who are apprentices undertaking the Enginuity Level 2 Improving Operational Performance (IOP) Apprenticeship Framework to develop their knowledge in the key areas identified within the unit titles.

There are no entry qualifications or age limits required by learners to undertake the qualification unless this is a legal requirement of the process or the environment. Assessment is open to any learner who has the potential to achieve the assessment criteria set out in the qualification.

This Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness is designed to meet the needs of learners and employers across the manufacturing industry. EAL has designed a ‘self-study’ booklet for this qualification that allows flexible delivery of the learning outcome requirements to suit the needs of learners and employers. The booklet can be downloaded from the EAL website and allows learners to work through the material at their own pace, with ‘knowledge checks’ to test them on the information they have covered. The EAL Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness is assessed through an online examination of 20 multiple choice questions based on the content of the workbook. There is still a need for learner support and tutorial-style activities to support delivery.

The qualification can be delivered in a secure environment off the job, at the workplace and in a training facility/college environment.
