Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering NVQ (Level 3 Extended Diploma)
This qualification is designed to cover the skills and knowledge of a wide variety of mechanical manufacturing engineering activities. It also includes level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) units to provide essential basic engineering training for apprentices in England and Wales.
There are no entry qualifications or age limits required by learners to undertake this qualification unless this is a legal requirement of the process or the environment. Assessment is open to any learner who has the potential to achieve the assessment criteria set out in the assessment routes.
Learners working towards an engineering manufacture Apprenticeship at level 3 in England or Wales.
Assessment of the PEO units takes place in a sheltered environment, while the level 3 units are assessed in the workplace via observation and the collation of evidence in a portfolio.
The PEO units must be delivered in a realistic work environment, before the level 3 units are undertaken in the learner
