The qualification can help successful learners to achieve their apprenticeship and progress to higher level work or further study, such as an advanced apprenticeship or EAL qualifications in Business-Improvement Techniques (B-IT). These complement existing qualifications and can help businesses to improve productivity, reduce waste, and maximise profit and revenue.

There are no prerequisites for entry to this qualification.

This EAL qualification has been designed for those learners who: Are new to the science, manufacturing and engineering environment but have no formal qualifications Are starting an apprenticeship Are looking for career progression within the workplace Wish to learn additional knowledge relevant to the workplace.

The assessment of this qualification is by the satisfactory completion of the tasks which have been reviewed by the delivery staff to achieve the qualification. Where the answers have been completed and marked by the learners the delivery staff must through professional discussion, or other similar means, ensure that the work is that of the learner. The

All training must be carried out in appropriate premises with a room for lectures/learners. Centres need to ensure that a suitable environment for information transfer is made available.
