EAL Level 3 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology
This qualification covers the advanced knowledge and understanding of the principles, methods and technology involved in aircraft maintenance. The qualification shares units that cover subjects including principles of rotorywing aircraft flight, rotorywing aircraft structures and transmissions, rotorywing aircraft gas turbine engines, rotorywing aircraft systems and mechanical engineering principles for aircraft technicians. A range of advanced units can support learners looking to enter higher education.
Centres should ensure that the learners have the potential to achieve the units selected within this qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to comply with the health and safety aspects of the scheme, the completion of the learning outcomes and the assessments.

The qualifications are assessed through an externally marked assessment covering the two common mandatory units. Internal Centre-marked assessments test practical skills and knowledge of the optional units. Assessment guidance is provided within each unit.
Knowledge qualifications can be delivered in a classroom or workshop environment.
