Level 2 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
This qualification covers the intermediate knowledge and understanding of the principles, methods and technology involved in mechanical engineering.
This Diploma will help learners meet the knowledge requirements of the Enginuity Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; although centres should ensure that the learners have the potential to achieve the units within this qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to comply with the health and safety aspects of the scheme, the completion of the learning outcomes and the external assessment.

- workers looking to achieve trained operator/semi-skilled status in mechanical engineering.
The mandatory units are assessed externally in a 1 hour onscreen or paper-based exam. Internal assessments test practical skills and knowledge of the optional units. Guidance is provided for each unit.
Knowledge qualifications can be delivered in a classroom or workshop environment.
