The EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points (603/3929/9) will be live from 1st February 2019.
The qualification covers the technical requirements for the installation of the EV points, and follows the entire IET Code of Practice and BS 7671.
It provides a facility for individuals working in the electrotechnical sector to develop their understanding of these installations. Learners must be at least 18 years old and conversant with the relevant wiring regulations and initial verification and commissioning.
The qualification comprises of a single unit and covers the theory aspects only. However practical training with the manufacturers' equipment can be incorporated into the Centre's delivery to enhance a course.
The award comprises of one unit which has 7 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
Centres can apply to offer this new qualification via Smarter Touch by submitting a qualification application. Materials will be available from EAL Connect.
