We are implementing important changes to the End Point Assessment for the EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Building Energy Management Systems 600/1577/9.

The occupational competence unit for this qualification will no longer be assessed by a simulated practical performance assessment (NET rig), and will be instead assessed using the learner's performance evidence sourced from the workplace, together with professional discussion.

This change has been made because the End Point Assessment rig is no longer available.

The relevant documents to implement this change are available from Smarter Touch and include:

  • Qualification manual - detailing updated approach
  • Qualification amendment document
  • Occupational competence synoptic performance unit, which requires evidence from the workplace

For consistency the new approach is open to all learners, including those who need to re-sit. This change is supported by trend controls and has been discussed by key industry stakeholders.

Learners undertaking the revised Building Energy Management Services End Point Assessment must be adequately supervised in the workplace in accordance with the relevant statutes and regulations such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.

Please also be aware that this qualification has an operational end date of the 30th November 2017, and a certification end date of 30th November 2020.
