Calling all industry apprentices – the Industry Apprentice Council (IAC) needs your help!

The IAC, which was founded and funded by EAL and IMI Awards, is running a survey of the wider apprentice community.

It would like to hear from as many apprentices as possible to help shape their future campaigns, discussions with government and education organisations, and back up their calls for improved Apprenticeships careers advice in schools.

As well as ensuring their voices are heard at a national level, apprentices will have the opportunity to win 2 tickets to the 2014 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix Practice Session at Silverstone, courtesy of F1 in Schools Ltd.

The survey, which closes on October 30th, can be found on the EAL website.

Sam Ball, a member of the IAC and an apprentice at MBDA, said: “All IAC members are current apprentices themselves and have first-hand experience of the vocational route and careers information, advice and guidance in schools. However, it’s important we hear from others as well, to give us a bigger picture of the Apprenticeships landscape, from the apprentices’ point of view.

“We want to give apprentices a national voice – something we have not had before – so it’s important that we hear from as many apprentices as possible for us to do that. The survey is one way we are trying to engage with other industry apprentices.”

The IAC also has a Facebook page, where apprentices can find the survey, and Twitter account @IAC_Apprentices – to ensure industry apprentices can engage with the group.

The IAC’s members are all industry apprentices from around the UK, aged 18-24 years old, from employers including: Airbus, BAE Systems, Caunton Engineering, DAF Trucks, Ford Dealerships, Ford GB, KMF, MBDA, National Grid, Nestlé, Rolls Royce and Vauxhall.
