You might have heard the name WorldSkills UK, but you may not be aware that the competitions are open to all learners who are on a programme of study, meaning any learner from any provider could be the next gold medallist! No matter if they study in the workplace, a college or if they are training with a private provider, they have the chance of becoming a WorldSkills UK medallist.
WorldSkills UK LIVE is the biggest celebration of young talent from across the country. Think of it as the skills Olympics, where the best young professionals compete in their vocation to become the best in the UK with the chance to be named best in the world at WorldSkills International.
Over the past 3 WorldSkills International competitions, the UK has won 72 medals; 6 gold, 7 silver, 8 bronze and 51 medallions of excellence. A medallion of excellence is given to competitors as recognition of performing at world class standards.
Would you like to find out how your organisation can support your learners into competition? Well you are in luck, our parent company Enginuity are hosting a special seminar on the 15th November at the NEC in Birmingham during WorldSkills UK LIVE.
The seminar starts at 10am, where Enginuity will be showing you how to apply, train and showcase the young talent that you are supporting. You will be given information on how you can use competitions against the Apprenticeship Levy and how they can contribute to the 20% off the job training requirement. Following the workshop, you will have the chance to be shown around WorldSkills UK LIVE, the UK's largest careers, skills and apprenticeship event with a special VIP tour and see future medal winners in action.
