  • Empowering Apprentices: New Resources and Support

The Association of Apprentices has recently launched a refreshed guide for new apprentices, and, for the very first time, has also released a guide tailored specifically for line managers.

These guides have been created by existing apprentices themselves, and they aim to make the onboarding process smoother for all new apprentices who are just starting their exciting academic journey in the coming months.

These resources are free and accessible to everyone. We urge you to not only share them with your apprentices but also extend this valuable support to line managers and other organisations within your network—especially SMEs who may not have easy access to such comprehensive guidance.

As part of the Association of Apprentices’ ongoing commitment to apprentices, we are delighted to introduce the 'Get Ahead Programme'. This programme features a series of webinars designed to provide invaluable insights to new apprentice members. Topics range from mental preparation to seeking support, and all these webinars can be conveniently accessed via the platform.

Acknowledging the significance of supporting apprentices with disabilities and long-term health conditions to prevent withdrawals, the Association of Apprentices are opening up the Disabled Apprentice Network event.

This will give line managers and skills coaches from organisations, a unique opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the kind of pastoral care and support that apprentices need during their studies. Together, we can create an environment that empowers apprentices and sets them up for success.
