Following an outstanding performance at this year’s SkillPLUMB competition, EAL learner, Owen Boswell, is one step closer to taking part in the WorldSkills finals in Abu Dhabi in 2017.
Currently studying an EAL Level 3 Plumbing Diploma at Suffolk New College, Owen has now been confirmed as one of the finalists competing in November’s WorldSkills UK finals in Birmingham.
Owen said: “I was a bit nervous at first but I began to feel more and more confident, and I was delighted to win.”
“Hopefully I will make the top ten – and then there will be some practising to do before the national final.”
EAL’s team of expert EV’s were on hand as SkillPLUMB and SkillELECTRIC competition judges and were all impressed with the high standard of skills and talent on display.
Designed to promote standards and skills across the electrical and plumbing industries, these annual skills events allow young electricians and plumbers to showcase their talents and compete against the best in the world.
More information about our wide range of plumbing qualifications is available on the EAL website.
