The electrical JIB have issued an important statement about the EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification 601/7345/2 when used outside the 'electrical trailblazer' apprenticeship.
Essentially this qualification and the AM2 is not a recognised combination for the ECS card. Apprentices for the electrical trailblazer (English apprenticeship standard) must undertake the graded AM2S as the End-Point Assessment for this standard.
Where appropriate, non-apprentice learners may continue to use either of the following for the ECS card:
EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (buildings, structures and the environment) 501/1605/8 (includes AM2) (also the apprenticeship framework qualification in Wales and Northern Ireland).
or
EAL Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker Assessment Route (ETS3) 601/0161/1 (includes AM2).
Please be aware of this update to ensure non-apprentice learners are registered for the appropriate qualification.
The full statement can be viewed here, and is published on the ECS card website's FAQs section.
