New guidance has been issued by the Education and Skills Funding Agency to inform training providers, employers and apprentices about the need for, and importance of initial assessment (IA) and recognition of prior learning (PL).
Guidance on how employers and training providers should meet the 20% off-the-job training requirement for apprentices has recently been updated to help you determine whether an activity counts as off-the-job training as well as some best practice examples and myth busters.

The EAL Level 1 Introduction to Welding Fume Hazard Control (601/8138/2) has been developed in consultation with college, training associations and industry to ensure learners will be provided with the fundamental knowledge to manage welding fumes appropriately.
The EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points (603/3929/9) will be live from 1st February 2019.
The qualification covers the technical requirements for the installation of the EV points, and follows the entire IET Code of Practice and BS 7671.
In addition to the recent updates to the Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (601/7345/2), we have also made available a 3rd science and principles written paper.
This will provide a new assessment and another additional paper for re-sitting learners (where applicable).
The new paper and the model answers can be downloaded via online services.
