Apprenticeships are a key focus for employers who want to retain a competitive edge and drive future growth.
We are committed to encouraging employers to take on apprentices and offer unrivalled industry knowledge and support. Our qualifications support apprentices across a wide range of sectors, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to build successful careers in industry.
Apprenticeship Standards
Apprenticeship standards are replacing SASE apprenticeship frameworks, as part of wider apprenticeship reform across England.
New apprenticeship standards, developed by groups of employers, are being launched and replacing the old frameworks, which are all expected to be switched off by 2020. These changes are accompanied by major apprenticeship funding reform, which included the introduction of the apprenticeship levy from April 2017.
What is EAL's Role in the Development of New Apprenticeship Standards?
EAL has been at the heart of new apprenticeship standards development - supporting employer development groups for key industry occupations since 2013 when the reforms began. We support employers to develop new apprenticeship standards at every stage, including assessment plan development. We are also an approved End-Point Assessment Organisation.
With our long-standing tradition of being closer to industry and designing qualifications that reflect this close partnership, EAL is perfectly positioned to guide the employer development groups’ work. Our expertise, knowledge and support ensure the new standards meet the needs of all employers, from SMEs to multinationals, and provide learners with the best possible start to their careers.
Which Apprenticeship Standards Contain EAL Qualifications?
EAL has developed many new qualifications for apprenticeship standards. This includes qualifications that are a mandatory requirement of the standard and others that are not mandatory, but can help to support the delivery of the standard, for example, by providing an audit trail to help achieve the 20% off the job training requirement. EAL Qualifications that Support Apprenticeship Standards
Please note, the EAL qualifications for the Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship standard are listed separately further down the page
EAL Qualifications in the Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
The Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship standard is a cross-sector apprenticeship that subsumes the following thirteen existing standards:
It means that engineering technicians in the aerospace, aviation automotive, maritime defence and wider advanced manufacturing and engineering sector can use one standard and assessment plan at Level 3. There is one funding cap and one End-Point Assessment model to cover the thirteen occupations.
EAL qualifications form part of the mandatory qualifications for the Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard. Click on the tabs below to see which occupations include our qualifications.
