Putting rail skills on the right track
When the Government announced a £38billion investment in the rail industry in April 2014, there was a realisation that such a major transformation was going to require a step change in the industry’s skills landscape - and EAL immediately rose to the challenge, working with industry to create a unique apprenticeship programme.
Thousands of highly skilled and disciplined servicemen and women are leaving the armed forces annually, faced with the prospect of launching new careers in civilian life. One sector proving a draw for former forces personnel is rail – with billions set to be invested in the UK’s infrastructure over the next ten years.
