Further to the recent announcement by the SFA regarding the continuing review of public funding across nearly 700 adult qualifications, EAL is continuing to work with the funding agency to secure funding on those listed as at risk.
We will work with providers and employers to retain any of those specialist bespoke qualifications that have naturally occurring smaller demands, however, where the qualifications are indeed obsolete and have been replaced, there will be a natural move towards the most appropriate qualification.
It is worth noting that no funding is withdrawn from Apprenticeship frameworks, and if not funded by the SFA, EAL will still continue to offer the qualifications as unfunded provision.
No qualifications offered by EAL have an expiry date, unless they are going to be formerly replaced with a new product. If there is to be any formal withdrawal of qualifications centres and providers will be notified via Spotlight.
If any centres or providers wish to support the continuation of the funding on low/no enrolment qualifications, they can send a letter of support (on letter-headed paper) to John Clark, Product Delivery Leader on firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note: letters of support must be written and presented in such a way (for example, using headed paper, and with company specific support) that they would be suitable to be made available on an EAL’s website in the future.
