Industry Apprentice Council (IAC)

Industry apprentices have been given a national voice through the formation of the first Industry Apprentice Council (IAC). The Council will enable apprentices to contribute to national debates on apprenticeships and advise on policy and strategies for promoting apprenticeships to young people.

IAC-mambers The IAC members with Julia Chippendale, Managing Director of EAL, outside the Parliament before their House of Commons reception

The IAC has been convened in partnership between EAL, the specialist awarding organisation for industry qualifications, and IMI Awards, the leading awarding body for the retail motor industry. Both these organisations previously brought together the All Party Parliamentary Apprenticeships Group (APPAG), to ensure the vocational pathway is discussed regularly among Parliamentarians and other key influencers. As well as pursuing its own agenda to reach conclusions and publish recommendations, the IAC will feed its views directly into the APPAG.

The Industry Apprentice Council officially launched on the 15th May 2013 at EAL's 'Learner Voice' Parliamentary Reception and you can download our dedicated Industry Apprentice Council brochure for more information.
